Double Pony Tail Updo (for Prom, Wedding, or Parties)

by on 2010/03/11

A slightly harder look, based on two pony tails. I would suggest having a go at the single pony updo first, and then trying out this one. Also, please keep in mind that I didn't use a mirror when I did this look, and I had to rush it to keep it under 10min, so its not the neatest. I did adjust it slightly after filming so the hair ties were covered. Have fun with it though...once you get the hang of the curls it really is quite simple to do. It just takes some practise. Use a mirror and check it as you go so you get the placement right. Thanks for watching! You will need: Clear hair ties Bobby pins which match your hair colour Hair spray Sectioning clips (or use ties if you have to) Decorative clips for the side.

Oh good, I’m so glad you’ve found this video useful.

As for your fringe…it really depends on the length of it. You can experiment with cute clips if you want it off your face, or just comb it neatly and leave it at that. Either way, it will still look effective! Let me know how it goes! xx

Woah, this is really pretty. I have a formal evening to go to next week and I was searching up on youtube.. and I found this. This looks so simple. :D
Just one question, what do you suggest if I have a fringe to work with? x

tuppinski March 11, 2010 at 12:05 PM

It should be if you do it correctly…don’t do this style with freshly washed hair as it’s harder to work with. Apply your pins so they are secure, and then spray with a hairspray to finish. Mine lasted all day with no problem :-)

jennajanggg91 March 11, 2010 at 12:08 PM

is it secure enough for me to have this updo style and not have it fall out? lol

tatters90 March 11, 2010 at 12:44 PM

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind :)

tuppinski March 11, 2010 at 1:06 PM

hello lovely :-)

tuppinski March 11, 2010 at 1:19 PM

Thank you! I hope you enjoy your cousins wedding! Use plenty of hairspray at the end to set this look, and it’s also best done on hair that hasn’t been washed in the last 24 hours.

First of all, I want to say that you have an amazing bone structure and second of all I really enjoy how you took the ponytail and and pincurls and tranformed it into a modern hairstyle with a vintage twist, literally!

tatters90 March 11, 2010 at 4:18 PM

This is one of the most gorgeous updos I’ve seen on Youtube! And I don’t even need a curling iron to do it!

This is exactly what I’ll be doing for my cousin’s wedding next weekend. Thanks!

hey there, pretty lady!

tuppinski March 11, 2010 at 4:42 PM

Thanks! The song is called ‘Watchin’ and it’s a remix by the Freemasons (the DJ not the mens club hehe).

adnisor March 11, 2010 at 5:03 PM

Nice vídeo! What’s the name of the song?
